Title changes, release dates, ratings, and trailers, oh my.

This may have slipped under the radar but Summit has changed the names for the films in the Twilight series. The Twilight Saga's New Moon and The Twilight Saga's Eclipse will now be titled The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The colon replaces 's. The official titles weren't widely known anyway except to Twi-hards and those who follow these films, for whom I am happy to keep in the loop.
All the Boys Love Mandy Lane has now been removed from Senator Entertainment's release schedule. Just one week ago I reported that the film had been listed as "TBD" after its July date was pulled. They have now done likewise with Fireflies in the Garden with Julia Roberts, which was scheduled to be the distributor's first US film. Some had speculated that Mandy Lane was continually delayed because Senator wanted to enter the US theatrical market with a bang by putting out Fireflies as their inaugural release. I guess that's moot now.

A couple of films I've been following received their official MPAA ratings this week. My One and Only has been rated PG-13 "for sexual content and language." The film debuted at the Berlin Film Festival in February, where it was nominated for the Golden Bear and won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury in the Special Mention Competition. Based on a true story, Renee Zellweger stars along with Logan Lerman as young George Hamilton. Freestyle Releasing is distributing. The film will open in New York and Los Angeles on August 21 before expanding to the top 20 markets on September 4.

American Son has been rated R "for pervasive language, some sexual content and drug use." The film was picked up for broadcast on Starz premium cable after its debut at the 2008 Los Angeles Film Festival. I covered the premiere and posted pictures I took from the red carpet and Q&A after the screening.

Iconic Canadian director Atom Egoyan's Adoration expands to Landmark's Kendall Square Cinemas in Cambridge MA, Landmark's Embarcadero Centre Cinemas in San Francisco, and in additional locations in select markets tomorrow. The film was one of my three Top Picks from last year's Toronto International Film Festival and one of my Top 10 of 2008 (see my REVIEW).

Finally, who doesn't love a fun trailer? This one for Aliens in the Attic (formerly It Came from Above), with Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical) and Carter Jenkins (Surface), is now up on Yahoo in 3 HD sizes:

hallo to all twilightfans, i am from germany, i have read very much about twilight and new moon etc in magazines and pages with pictures etc etc.
i dont know whats going on on the other side from the world, but the "big actor" from twilight rob pattinson is going crazy in NY because all the female fans are so crazy because of him.
he is very hot and cute, yes, but he is also only a human an a joung man too.
he needs a live for himself to for normal days.
so all you fans-you want that they make the last part too-so give the actors a little break.
alright thats it.wish you a nice day.
