
It's hard to keep track without a scorecard but the awards for the best of 2011 in movies continue to be announced. Now it's the American Cinema Editors (ACE) revealing their winners of the 62nd Annual ACE Eddie Awards.
Personally, this one carries a lot of weight in my book. It's said that a film is "made" in the editing suite, and any director surely knows that a good editor is his/her best ally in bringing their creative vision to the screen (and vice-versa). In four of the last six years, the winner of the ACE Eddie for dramatic feature has gone on to win the Academy Awards for Best Editing and Best Picture.
Awards are handed out in four feature film categories: Dramatic Feature, Comedy or Musical Feature, Animated Feature, and Documentary. There are five awards for television. The winners were feted in a ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel yesterday afternoon.
