In my travels to the best film festivals in…
On Wednesday, June 18, 2014 the highly anticipated World Premiere of Gren Wells' The Road Within took place at the Los Angeles Film Festival. The sold-out screening was held at the Regal Cinemas L.A. LIVE. The film was a selection in the LA Muse section.
The Road Within is Gren Wells' auspicious directorial debut and stars Robert Sheehan as Vincent, Zoë Kravitz as Marie, and Dev Patel as Alex, along with veterans Kyra Sedgwick and Robert Patrick.
The picture can best be described as a coming of age road movie with an unlikely set of characters: Vincent has Tourette's Syndrome, Marie is anorexic, and Alex has OCD. Together they hope to bond, finding some semblance of common ground, as long as they don't drive each other crazy (no offense) along the way (for a synopsis see the festival's official page).
I sat down with writer/director Gren Wells for a delightful in-depth discussion about the film. There are no spoilers in this interview.
