2014 IFP Gotham Independent Film Awards Complete Winners List

It's the first Monday after Thanksgiving, which means that the calendar has turned to the major film awards for 2014. The big ones are the Golden Globes, sponsored by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, and the Oscars, of course, sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Last week the Film Independent Spirit Award nominations were announced. But there are a few other significant groups as well.

The Gotham Independent Film Awards, selected by distinguished juries and presented in New York City, the home of independent film, are the first honors of the film awards season. This public showcase honors the filmmaking community, expands the audience for independent films, and supports the work that IFP does behind the scenes throughout the year to bring such films to fruition.

Awards are given in eight categories, including the Audience Award, which is culled from the 15 nominees for Best Feature, Best Documentary, and Breakthrough Director.

The 24th Gotham Independent Film Awards took place earlier tonight in New York.
